Date: Friday 25th November 2011
Venue: Joshua Brooks »
Location: Manchester
Doors: 22:00 til 04:00

Tickets
http://www.skiddle.com/whats-on/Manc...s%29/11546846/
http://www.residentadvisor.net/event.aspx?306967

As the cold winter months draw in, we warm things up a bit by bringing you a taste of recent Ibizan summers in the form of a healthy dose of rave delivered by Circo Loco resident – DJ W!ld.

W!ld's first love within music was hip hop, but later in the early nineties he was inspired by Laurent Garnier's performances in his home town of Dijon to get into house and techno music. In 1996 W!ld bought his first set of turntables and began to play at legendary Parisian clubs such as Le Palace, Queen and Rex.

Later in 2003, he met fellow Frenchman and current hot property – Chris Carrier and the pair began recording as “Catwash” and set up a label of the same name through which they both release individually and as a duo. This year he produced one of the biggest club tracks in the form of his collaboration with Hector Morales - “Take A Trip” which featured heavily in the boxes of DJs all across the house and techno spectrum and the album from which it was taken “Palace” was also a massive hit.

W!ld is primarily a master behind the wheels of steel though and it is his performances at the decks that won him a residency at the legendary Circo Loco night at DC10 in Ibiza and in turn his terrace destroying sets there caught the eye of Sven Väth who signed him up to his Cocoon agency.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yGHbJhc-ULI

As you can imagine, W!ld is one of the hottest DJs in Europe right now and we are proud to have convinced him to come and play in our cosy basement. As ever tickets are limited to 200 and we expect demand to be high so make sure you bag yourself one to avoid missing out on this rare opportunity to see him up close and personal...

We've take up a residency at Joshua Brooks voted Best Venue 2010 by City Life, we won the Best Bookings accolade at the same awards by securing the services of some of the worlds greatest DJs, most innovative producers and most vibrant live performers. We've had two of the forefathers of techno play Juan Atkins and Derrick May and played host to two of the innovators of the deep house sound, Chez Damier and Joshua (Iz). We've given Manchester débuts to current rising stars like Sascha Dive, Delano Smith and Iron Curtis and given massive names like Kenny Larkin, Raresh and Octave One their first shows in the city outside of the massive events they're used to playing. We've hosted Manchester's first ever secretsundaze party and had one of the pioneers of the UK scene Andrew Weatherall over to absolutely smash the place to bits.

With all this under our belts in just two short years, we thought that our 2nd birthday needed to be something super special for us to fully encapsulate everything that we've stood for over the past 24 months. With this in mind, on October 28th, we shall be taking over both floors of Joshua Brooks, installing a Funktion One soundsystem upstairs and bringing you four of the world's finest acts. Read on for more info on them...

Stacey Pullen is the Kosmik Messenger. An innovator from the second wave of Detroit techno, he grew up under the mentorship of Detroit's legendary three: Derrick May, Juan Atkins and Kevin Saunderson. The Black Flag label boss has released on a whole host of prestigious labels such as Transmat offshoot Fragile, R&S, Balance and Cadenza. As a DJ, his skills are unquestionable as you would expect of someone who was asked to record one of the first Fabric CDs and RA podcasts...

Terry Francis is quite simply one of the Dons of the UK clubbing scene. Through his underground Wiggle parties with Nathan Coles, his critically acclaimed Architecture mix CD and his residency at Fabric, it's fair to say that Terry demonstrates that he is one of the most complete DJs on the planet. Often labelled as one of the Godfathers of tech-house (or house-no) as he calls it, he does what all the very best DJ's do. He blurs the lines between the past and the present to create the future and always plays from the heart. Crucially though, his fluid mixing and flawless track selection mean he does it just that little bit better than almost anybody else.

Argy is one of Europe's hottest new stars. In just 6 short years he has released on such high profile imprints as Cocoon, Dennis Ferrer's Objektivity, Cadenza, Poker Flat, Permanent Vacation, Versatile, and his own These Days. His gig at Content is part of his Fundamentals album release tour, forthcoming on Ibadan. His DJ sets are very much like his productions diverse, hypnotic, deeply musical, yet strikingly state-of-the-art house music. Be prepared to witness a legend in the making...

Deep Space Orchestra are also relative newcomers to the scene but like Argy are also making big waves very quickly. Comprising of members Chris Barker and Si Murray who have been DJing and producing together since 2005. The duo have released on a number of heavyweight labels such as Delusions of Grandeur, Quintessentials and of course their own Use Of Weapons. As well as being geniuses in the studio, the pair are equally at home behind the 1's and 2's as their recent guest mix for Gilles Petersons Worldwide show will attest. But don't just take our word for it, come and see for yourself...

Capacity for this event is limited to 400 tickets. Utilising numerous risqué and often open-air venues, they have hosted some of the most colourful parties that London has seen in recent years.

To celebrate their 10th Anniversary they have decided to take the secretsundaze experience on the road by collaborating with some carefully selected clubs and promoters all around the world and we are proud to stand alongside places such Studio 80 in Amsterdam, Panorama Bar in Berlin and Stop Making Sense festival in Croatia as their choice for spreading the secrectsundaze gospel to the good people of Manchester.

To help them do this we have enlisted the talents of secretsundaze favourite Patrice Scott who apart from producing and spinning the finest in deep house and techno, also runs the most excellent Sistrum Recordings which is responsible for releases by himself, Keith Worthy, Anton Zap and XDB amongst others. Also joining us will be Chris Feinman from much respected Manchester based deep house night, Development and his DJing partner Tom Lynch who has also recently released on Freerange Recordings and Content resident Eddie Leader's Hudd Traxx imprint.

To make the event extra special and to bring you the authentic secretsundaze vibe, we will be taking over the upstairs floor of Joshua Brooks from 4pm, installing a Funktion One sound system and throwing a free day party featuring a free BBQ on the terrace and a DJ appearance by Giles and James. Later on in the evening, we will be taking the rave downstairs for the usual basementalism with all 3 secretsundaze guests at the controls for what promises to be one of the highlights of the year and the ultimate way to round off our summer program...

As ever, due to the limited capacity of the venue and the popularity of our events, we highly recommend you purchase a ticket to avoid disaoppointment.

For our June party we are more than content to announce that we have secured the services of one of the world's most vibrant and exciting live acts – Octave One.

It's true to say that Octave One exploded into global dance music's collective consciousness in 2000 with the massive crossover hit – Blackwater, a record played by DJs across the spectrum from Louie Vega through to Jeff Mills. However, they had been releasing some of the finest Detroit house and techno for over 10 years prior to that - since their first single “I Believe” on Derrick May's Transmat and they have continued to do so ever since, with multiple releases and albums on their own 430 West imprint as well as other techno stalwarts such as Underground Resistance and Tresor.

For this very special live show, we will be flying in brothers Lenny and Lawrence Burden (the core of Octave One) and 15 pieces of equipment from their own studio, to create one of the most sonically rich experiences you are ever likely to witness. If you've ever been lucky enough to see them before at one of the large scale clubs and events that they're used to playing such as Love Parade, Awakenings Festival or Tresor you'll know that this is not to be missed. If you haven't, then all we can say is that they have been on our wishlist from day one and are our most requested act so where better to finally check them out than in the intimate confines of the Content basement with 199 other like minded souls?

This event is strictly limited to 200 tickets and we expect demand to be high. Don't miss out. Get a ticket...

Tickets available directly from us, WITHOUT BOOKING FEE here:

https://content-1.eventwax.com/content- … st-detroit

And online at the usual outlets:

Skiddle: http://www.skiddle.com/events/11471370/
RA: http://www.residentadvisor.net/event.aspx?258095

And on foot at the following places:

Piccadilly Records - Oldham Street
Eastern Bloc Records - Oldham Street
Gaffs Newsagent - Owen's Park

As a producer, his music draws deeply on the legacy of Chicago and Detroit, yet is informed by the traditions of his background in composition. Sven's records (released on the likes of Mojuba, Liebe*Detail, Stytrax Leaves and Apple Pips) can be described as house music that is half atmosphere and half beats, and not afraid to take their sweet time to lull the floor with their charms!

Sven will be playing an extended 3 hour set at FUSED.

http://www.residentadvisor.net/dj/svenweisemann
http://www.myspace.com/svenweisemann
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VBTgbcBWCpA
http://soundcloud.com/mojubarecords/sve … x-13-05-10

WBEEZA - Hailing from South London, you would expect Wbeeza's (pronounced "Double-You-Beeza") sound to be rooted in dubstep rather than house. But his releases for Detroit-affiliated London imprint Third Ear have piqued the interest of house music devotees of all stripes. Starting out with nothing but a PC and a copy of Reason, Warren's house "sketches" soon got him requests for live performances. Infact, it is one of these engaging live shows that brought Warren to our attention at Sonar a few years ago. Physically invested, constantly moving, usually with dark glasses or a hoodie obscuring his vision, the Wbeeza live show - brought to Manchester for the very first time for FUSED - is something you can't help but dance to.

http://www.residentadvisor.net/dj/wbeeza
http://www.myspace.com/wbeeza
http://www.burlingtonproject.co.uk/news … spx?Id=387
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FDnCuHgXIaE

FUSED at JOSHUA BROOKS - FRIDAY 20 MAY 2011
with Sven Weisemann (Extended Set) and WBeeza (LIVE - Manchester Debut)
10pm - 4am. £5 advance tickets*, £7 door

* http://residentadvisor.net/event.aspx?251059

ABOUT THE NIGHTS

Micron have been running monthly events at Joshua Brooks for over 4.5 years and have firmly established themselves in the Manchester scene.

Lowdown & Dirty present-

HYBRID - LIVE
STEVE THORPE
RESISTANCE

Saturday 4th June
Sound Control, Manchester, M1 5NP
11pm - 4am
£15 adv, More on the door

Lowdown & Dirty are very pleased to announce a special date in June with one of the pioneers in euphoric electronic dance music, progressive neanderthal music and house, the one and only - HYBRID. This is a very exclusive live event with the full band upstairs in the loft at Sound Control and is a very rare appearance in the U.K other than at a handful of festivals!

Since first bursting onto the scene with the now classic album Wide Angle in 1999, the Swansea, Wales-based Hybrid have been known as one of the most forward thinking and technically skilled acts in electronic dance music. Blurring the line between in-studio production and live presentation, Hybrid are one of the few remaining dance acts to perform live with a classic band setup.

Though, much has changed on the road to Hybrid's fourth artist album Disappear Here. Most notable is the addition of Hybrid's third member - singer/ songwriter Charlotte James - to go along with founders Chris Healings and Mike Truman.

Charlotte's impact is marked as Disappear Here is truly an album of real songs and not merely dance beats with vocals on top. It offers a lot more than anything Hybrid has ever previously written and pushes boundaries in every way.

With Disappear Here, Hybrid have managed to create an epic and unique sound which has progressed dramatically from its original dance inception but still retains much of what makes electronic music so exciting. The album features guest vocals from Tim Hutton, drums from Alex Madge and the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra.

Tickets are limited for this amazing gig and are already selling well so grab them now as we don't want you to miss out on this once in a lifetime chance to see them live in such an intimate venue! The band will be supported by residents Steve Thorpe and Resistance to rock the house before and after HYBRID.

Tickets are priced at £15 + bf and are available from the websites below:

http://www.skiddle.com/events/11453460/
http://www.seetickets.com/Event/HYBRID/ … rol/549707
http://www.ticketline.co.uk/artist/lowd … ybrid-live

For more info on the band, free tunes and mixes, please visit their website -
http://www.hybridsoundsystem.com/
